I really love how bronzer can warm up my face, making me look healthier.
Like I’ve been outdoors.

The warmth of a bronzer can bring a complexion to life!

In this post, I’m sharing my favorite bronzers tips over 40, and three of my favorite products as well.

Bronzer Tips Over 40

Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer

What kind of magic is this stuff?  It looks like a powder in the pan, but performs like a cream once applied.  This is AMAZING and everyone should at least try it.

I have used up an entire pan of this, and I think that says a lot.  How many products do you hit pan on?  Only your faves, right?

It’s like powder and cream bronzer had a beautiful baby.

It’s matte, so there’s no sparkle.  Just beautiful, buttery sun kissed color.  Because it’s not a true powder, it’s not drying.  It’s also not technically a cream, so you can apply it like a powder (with a brush) and it has staying power.  With eight shades, you’ll find one perfect for you!

Benefit Hoola Bronzer

When my skin is feeling a little more on the oily side, Benefit Hoola Bronzer is fantastic.  This is a powder, but it never looks chalky or unnatural.

It’s available in 4 matte shades: Hoola Lite, Hoola (the original medium color), Hoola Caramel Medium-Deep, and Hoola Toasted Deep Bronzing Powder.

Hoola Lite is a great choice if you have fair skin.

This is one of the first bronzers I tried years ago, and I’m still recommending it.  Its velvety texture is just gorgeous.

RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer

When I’m craving a dewier look, or when my skin is feeling really dry, I grab my creamy Buriti Bronzer.  This has some sparkle to it, so I apply it a little differently from a powder bronzer.

I apply this cream bronzer to the parts of my face where the sun would naturally bronze me, like the tops of my cheek bones and a little on the bridge of my nose, and some at the top of my forehead.  Because it has sparkle, I don’t need to add highlighter.

It mimics a natural glow and adds just enough luminosity.

I like to have options because my over-40 skin seems to change from day to day.  I’m sure hormones have a lot to do with it.  Some days my skin feels dry, and some days there’s lots of oil.

In general, I stay away from most drying powders formulas.  I like sparkle sometimes, and when I do, I don’t like a ton of it in my bronzer.

Gone are the days of getting bronze color from laying in my backyard slathered in baby oil.  I actually use SPF 50 now. But I still love a bronzy glow, and these products are the ones I always repurchase.
