Facial steaming is an excellent self-care activity. Besides being good for your skin, steaming also encourages you to breathe slowly and deeply, which is naturally calming. And a little more calm is something we could all use!
It’s really very easy. The 3 recipes I’ve included use ingredients you likely have around the house already.
After you’ve cleansed your skin, add your selected ingredients to a large bowl. Pour about 3-4 cups of boiled water into the bowl, over the ingredients.
Put your face over the bowl, put a towel over your head to create a tent over the bowl, close your eyes, and just breathe.
Let the aroma relax you, let the breathing calm you.
To Calm and Soothe Skin:
5-10 Cucumber Slices
1-2 Chamomile Tea Bags
To Hydrate Skin:
1-2 Chamomile Tea Bags
1 Teaspoon Lemon Peel
To Energize Your Skin:
1 Teaspoon Lemon Peel
1 Teaspoon Orange Peel
1-2 Chai Tea Bags
Steaming helps increase circulation, giving you a real lit-from-within glow. It’s also hydrating to your skin, and it can help your skincare products penetrate deeper, improving their results.
Diy facial steaming gives your skin a treat, and your mind a break from stress.
