Tired of wasting money on lipstick colors that looked terrible on me, I turned to Pinterest, as one does, for help. I made a list of the color swatches I saw over and over in “The Best Drugstore Lipstick Colors” posts.
I kept that list handy on my phone, and when I was out shopping, I’d pick one up. Maybelline colors were consistently flattering on me, so I focused my energy there.
Now I have a classic wardrobe of the best drugstore lipstick colors for me.
Because these are all classic and neutral, they look great on many skin tones.
The first two lipsticks in the line up (pictured above) are from the Maybelline Inti-Matte Nudes Collection. As you can tell, I’ve worn that first one A LOT. The shade is Almond Rose, and it’s amazing! Great for every day.

The second shade is Honey Pink, and it’s a little lighter than Almond Rose. It is a beautiful color when you have a little summer color!
No Best Drugstore Lipstick Colors list would be complete without a RED.
The shade in the middle, Siren In Scarlet, is daring for me. I don’t have many reds, but it’s a classic and I felt I needed one in my lipstick arsenal. Plus, red lipstick is just a good thing to have around.
A red lip can MAKE your look like no other color can.
It’s an orangey-red, and that looks best on me.

As it turns out, spice looks good on me…and on many people in fact. These Mauve-y neutrals are jsut gorgeous. Look at Touch of Spice!
And here is the only glossy, shiny lipstick on my list, Spicy Mauve.
So these are my basics. The core of my drugstore lipstick collection. These are classic colors, no glitter or shimmer, that will stay on trend no matter what.
All are around $5, so you can build your own lipstick wardrobe for around $25!
